week 19 Off the Map. Alice in Wonderland
Michael Ollerton
A new Project and a new team... well kinda new... as in some new people. Myself and joel have been working together a lot this year, and it looks like were doing it again for this project, though i personally don't mind i think i work very well with joel. We've also had one very early drop out from our team who really wanted to work on their own which is also okay, though it does mean more work for us.
We have a pretty mixed bag of people in our team, one member is exceptionally good at art and i expect this will definitely be beneficial to the connecting stage. its also good to be working with some new people, i haven't had much of an opportunity to branch out this project and this should be a good chance to.
Now as for the project its self, we are going to be making a sidescroller alice in wonderland game. When the brief was set we were told to do sidescroller but this has now changed to do anything we ant. As a group we are pretty happy with the sidescroller aspect and are planning to go for that.
The British library is hosting the competition Off the map, and i think we've got the best brief they've set... i mean you can't beat alice in wonderland, the book is so iconic and its crazy to think how well it holds up 150 years later.
Our team is really motivated and excited about this brief we've all giving ourselves homework of to read the book tonight and then come back tomorrow with our ideas, i think we've all decided as a group to have an attempt at telling the whole story, which no one else seems to be doing so hopefully we will have that edge.
as i said early our team mate lewis is really good at concept art and haas knocked this up in the first day, though its not a final its damn awesome! i can't wait to see what we make.
