Week 16 Container city update
Michael Ollerton
heres a quick update. quickly wanted to show everyone what the level is looking like in engine
We have made sure to get the main set up in engine as quickly as possible so that, we just have to focus on getting assets in engine. I am in charge of the noodle bar section of our map so the plan is to get the model finished by next week and be on to texturing. Now lets look at the level so far. my team mate Joshua is the main engine person on our team, so I'm gonna show what he's been working on.
This last shot really shows the scale, even though the playable level is only three levels this makes it feel huge.
We have also finished the design of the container. This was complete by my team mate Christy. We set our container city project in the close future so we wanted the containers to look a little bit different but still very recognisable.
Christy made the whole container out of modular parts that snap together really easily in the engine, this makes it really easy for us to swap out the door on one or the walls for different walls. We made sure to get this right as the modular component of the brief seemed to very important and is also a fundamental of level design these days.
we also started looking at rugs to populate the world.
