First post of the summer probably the last one before we start third year.
Today marks the day Myself, Chris Lonsdale, Kieran Burke and Max Bostock kicked off our own online show (Get Good). We've been planning this show for a good few months now but today we did our first live stream. Get good is inspired by the “Level up” formula, but on a smaller scale for game art students, with the hope of setting up a space to teach and learn and to share knowledge. The plan is to have regular live streams where we can critique work, do Overpaintings and teach some of the stuff we’ve learnt. It's also going to be a platform where we can get the right kind people talking and explaining stuff they're are experts in. The show is going to rely heavily on audience feedback and interactivity, they tell us what they want to learn or know about, and then we try to supply those kinds of tutorials or get people on the show who know a lot about this.
Here is our first session, todays episode is probably going to be the most different from the rest. We were just trying to introduce the show and who we are, then try doing something fun and interesting seeing as its our first episode, so not a proper topic like hopefully the rest. Im not surprised to say not everything was perfect but it went pretty smoothly, theres a few tech things that we learnt more about and will be better next time. Todays episode we decided to give our selves a topic (dwarven ruins) and try to paint for half an hour, then try to critique it and see what we could of done better. I'm excited for this show and i have high hopes we've been getting really good response from our viewers and a lot of people on the course and up for this kind of community feedback platform. These were the images we came up with in 30mins on the show.
